Before You go into a medical College
You should know the golden rules of medicine :
1.Do no harm
2.Always be professional
3.Show respect for everyone you work with
4.Always acknowledge your mistakes with patients. Do not be dishonest with your patients or the team
5.You have to take care of yourself.before you take care of other people
6.Do not go searching for Zebras.Always think about the most common and likely diagnosis
7.Do not order a test just because you can not bill for it
8.Do not smoke or drink alcohol or take drugs
9.Go with your gut
10.Get help from those with more experience when you need it
11.Do not argue with your colleagues from other depts/services
12.Always document everything
13.Be careful before giving medical advice to family and friends
14.When dealing with difficult patients, always keep in mind that it is not personal;
15. Don't offer something to a patient what he/she does not need
16.Always try to abide by the principle of beneficence
warmth, sympathy and understanding MAY OUTWEIGH
THE SURGEONS KNIFE OR THE CHEMISTS DRUG.
